Although rabbits usually live less than a year in the wild, they reproduce so prolifically that farmers and gardeners often consider them pests. Rabbits have strong hind legs that allow them to run and run very fast. The rabbit is one of the most common mammals in the eastern United States. But many people like to have the rabbit as a pet too.
